SUGAR Cosmetics, one of India’s largest omnichannel beauty companies and a cult favourite among Gen Z and millennial consumers, has cemented its place as a non–animal testing brand with a spot on the “Beauty Without Bunnies” certification programme run by PETA US. The group’s database lists cosmetics, personal care, and household goods brands around the globe that don’t test on animals.
There’s a growing demand for premium beauty products in India, and this new badge officiates SUGAR Cosmetics’ commitment and care for consumers as well as animals.

A single test for a cosmetics ingredient can use over 1000 rats or rabbits. That’s why over 6000 companies around the world shun animal tests in favour of modern, non-animal methods, thereby preventing animals from enduring painful experiments in which substances are dripped into their eyes, smeared onto their shaved skin, sprayed in their faces, or forced down their throats. Because of the vast physiological differences between humans and other animals, the results of such tests are often misleading.
