Vegan and Vegetarian Muslims Share How They Celebrate Eid Al-Adha

On the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, millions of goats, sheep, and other animals are slaughtered for sacrifice – 11.18 million cows, buffaloes, goats, and sheep will be sacrificed in Bangladesh alone this year. But as our vegan and vegetarian Muslim friends know, there are other, kinder ways to observe the holiday.

“There is not an animal that lives on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but they form communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they all shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.”
