There’s No Place Like Home, but for animals exploited for dairy, meat, and eggs, “home” is often filthy, crowded, windowless sheds where workers cram them in by the thousands and mutilate them. Gentle chickens, pigs, cows, buffaloes, and other animals spend their entire lives in these conditions, which are the industry norm, regardless of any claims that the animals were treated ‘humanely’ or like ‘family’.
