Reimagining Fashion’s Future: N&S GAIA x PETA India’s Feather-Free Collaboration
A collaboration between designer Sidharth Sinha of label N&S GAIA and PETA India introduces a new narrative to the runway during the global showcase at World Fashion Week, via the VLGE world-building platform. N&S GAIA is a sustainable and ethically driven fashion label, deeply rooted in the philosophy of “Sustainability and Conscious Luxury,” where innovation and responsibility go hand in hand. Through VLGE’s digital immersive worlds, new realms of engagement, storytelling, and creativity redefine the role of animals in fashion with artistic storytelling and fashion visuals.
The collaboration highlights compassion, creativity, and is a powerful call to end the use of animals exploited and killed for fashion. N&S GAIA’s Sidharth envisions a virtual world where he introduces the duck as his muse, following their journey, from when they lived in nature with their families, where they belong, to an era where animals were exploited for trends, and now, into a new chapter where fashion celebrates life without taking it. Ducks are no longer viewed as symbols of what can be taken from nature, but of what can be learnt from it: grace, resilience, and freedom, which are the new textures of fashion. Reinstating its belief that fashion needs to evolve with empathy at its core, N&S GAIA intends to become a vegan brand from January 2026. By leveraging VLGE’s immersive world-building capabilities, this campaign transcends traditional runway formats and invites audiences worldwide to engage with a vision of fashion that honours lives of sentient beings instead of exploiting them.
Rebekah Tolley, Producer, Curator & Mentor at World Fashion Week (@wfw.ai), shared — “mentoring this project with N&S GAIA was a powerful reminder that creativity can drive real change when art, empathy, and technology move together”.

Behind every feathered ensemble or accessory are birds plucked alive or that did not want to die.
In nature, ostriches share parental responsibilities, loyal geese partner for life, and ducks use vocalisations and body language to communicate. Yet, for fashion, feathers are torn by the fistful out of fully conscious, terrified birds or taken from those who are slaughtered. The feather trade also helps prop up the meat industry, since a bird’s feathers can be sold at a much higher price per pound than their flesh.
Recently, more than fifty top indian fashion designers, including Anita Dongre, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Gaurav Gupta, Shyamal & Bhumika, Rina Dhaka, Jade by Monica and Karishma, Rajdeep Ranawat, Baggit Founder Nina Lekhi, Virgio Founder Amar Nagaram, Shubhika Sharma – Designer and Creative Director, Papa Don’t Preach, Krésha Bajaj, Purvi Doshi, Rahul Luthra (Raabta by Rahul), Ashish N Soni, Jattinn Kochhar, Pradeep Krishnakumar of Zouk and Pia Trivedi of Pia’s Faux pledged to be feather-free through British designer Stella McCartney & PETA India’s joint appeal.
