Dozens of Animals Rescued from Floods in Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) by PETA India
When floods in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) left animals stranded and starving, PETA India’s Rapid Response Team got a boat and sprang into action.
PETA India’s Rapid Response Team, which regularly scouts the areas that got flooded to help and feed community animals, arranged a boat and coordinated with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, local feeders, other groups and volunteers and then hit the rising water.
Realising animals were submerged and at risk of drowning, PETA India’s Rapid Response members boarded a boat and managed to rescue terrified dogs as the Yamuna swelled. Similarly, in Noida Sector 139, the team used the help of tractors and villagers to rescue buffaloes and a cow. The team also waded through the water and retrieved more dogs.
In total, more than 30 animals, including dogs, buffaloes, and a cow, were rescued, medically assessed and fed.
