Doodle to Make Cows and Buffaloes Happy

Posted on by PETA

If you like to be creative and doodle, this PETA Youth mission is for you!

Art is a powerful form of expression. That’s why we’re asking all of you to let your imaginations inspire more people to go leather-free. All you have to do is the following:

  • Draw a picture of a cow or buffalo with a speech bubble that says, “Please go leather-free, for me.” The animal could look friendly or sad – both looks work fine with this message.
  • Post your doodle on social media with hashtags such as #GoLeatherFree or #PETAYouth, and tag PETA India (@petaindia) – we might share your artwork.
  • Nominate your friends and family to go leather-free and to participate in the mission.

Your doodle could inspire someone to stop using leather, which would help prevent extreme suffering. In India, approximately 34 million cattle are killed every year, fueling the leather trade. Many animals are crammed onto such severely crowded trucks on their way to slaughter that their bones break and they die en route. The throats of the survivors are typically cut while they’re still conscious.

Here’s an example doodle:
