Renowned Rockers Ask Their Legions of Fans to Speak Out Against Animal Abuse and Take Action
Delhi – Showing members Nitin, Sonam, Saurabh, Subir, Gaurav and Srijan dressed in black next to the caption “Never Be Silent. It Takes Only a Moment to Change the Life of an Animal Facing Abuse and Exploitation. Find Your Voice”, iconic rock band Parikrama stars in a brand-new ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India. The ad urges people always to use their voices to help animals in need. The band will unveil the ad – in person – during its gig at the Hard Rock Café in Saket on Thursday.
When: Thursday, 26 July, 8 pm sharp
Where: Hard Rock Café, 1st Floor, DLF Place (Select City Walk Mall complex), Saket, New Delhi
The “Never Be Silent” campaign is based on one of the most powerful concepts that Dr Martin Luther King Jr gave the world: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”.
“All animals deserve to live a life free of unnecessary suffering and exploitation”, says Parikrama keyboardist Subir Malik. “We and PETA are challenging people to speak up for animals in need whenever and however they can.”
Animals in India – and around the world – suffer and die every day at the hands of abusers. Society’s abuses of animals run the gamut, from horses who are used to haul carriages heavier than their bodies can bear to dogs who are forced to live in loneliness and fear at the end of a chain.
In addition to its first hit song, “Till I’m No One Again”, Parikrama has dazzled listeners with “Am I Dreaming”, “Load Up”, “Tears of the Wizard”, “Vapourize” and many other unforgettable tunes.
