Vegan Fashion Rules at JD Institute’s Annual Design Awards

Posted on by PETA

Vegan fashion rules the runway. Want proof? Look no further than the prestigious JD Institute of Fashion Technology’s Annual Design Awards, in which an entire category was dedicated to PETA and vegan designs!

PETA attended all 9 ceremonies at JD Institute locations across the country. Our cute “bunny” mascot walked the ramp with a sign reading, “Go Fake for Animals’ Sake”; our fashion expert and associate manager of celebrity and media projects, Benazir Suraiya, spoke about vegan style; and students showcased their cruelty-free clothing and accessory designs.

We also screened actor Harshvardhan Rane’s exclusive video for PETA , in which he reminds students that “compassion for animals never goes out of style” and tells them that he looks forward to wearing their vegan designs one day.

Students who had a change of heart about wearing or working with animals’ skins  pledged to go leather-free also by signing PETA’s banner and received a “No Leather” badge.

Judging by the many chic, creative, cruelty-free looks we saw at the JD Institute Design Awards, the future of vegan fashion has never been brighter! Why not give your wardrobe a humane makeover by pledging to shed skins? Watch this video to find out why:
