Making Strides Toward Animal Liberation at the Tata Mumbai Run 2026
For the third year running, PETA India and FirstRand Services Private Limited took on the Tata Mumbai Run to raise funds for animals.
Turning up bright and early in their red PETA Pack T-shirts – with our bull leading the charge – the PETA India squad gathered behind the starting line at Azad Maidan on a mission to make every step count for animals.
The gun sounded just after daybreak, and the 65,400 runners set off along the Dream Run route to Azad Maidan. The colourful chaos of excited participants thinned out a little as the runners covered the first couple of kilometres, but the atmosphere was electric with dhols, music, and cheering crowds.
The animals they were running for stayed front of mind as our team hit their stride and powered through to the finish line. Along the way – and even after they collected their medals – the PETA Pack drew smiling crowds keen to get a selfie with our animal ambassador.

Attracting many admirers, Ritesh from our fundraising team dressed as a bull, Dr Pooja and Dr Sawai from PETA India’s rapid response team, and Prajakta from fundraising, raised a whopping Rs 7L for animals on their run.
Each snapshot sparked conversation, spreading the message to spectators that every animal is someone.
We’re incredibly grateful to our generous donors, including FirstRand Services Private Limited, which has supported our team for three years. Its Rs 6,30,000 donation helped PETA India raise a total of Rs 7L for animals.
More than just a race, the Tata Mumbai Run shows the strength of unity. Together, we’re building a kinder world and sparing animals suffering in laboratories, on factory farms, in circuses and street performances, and elsewhere.
