Campaigns Assistant

Position Objective:

To provide – administrative, research and campaign projects support for PETA India’s Campaigns Division by coordinating campaign-related activities, supporting demonstrations, and outreach initiatives, engaging with activities and other stakeholders, conducting research and managing campaign related logistics and materials.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Coordinate a wide variety of projects in support of PETA India’s campaigns
  • Conduct research, writing, and analysis in support of PETA India’s campaigns
  • Provide project coordination and administrative support to  campaigners and other department members to ensure timely completion of campaign activities.
  • Assist the campaigns department with high-level administrative tasks
  • Work with vendors in developing hyper-realistic props for demonstrations
  • Communicate with activists about PETA India campaigns and encourage them to take action for animals
  • Attend demonstrations in support of PETA India’s campaigns
  • Maintain inventory of props, demonstrations materials, and documents
  • Support the development and implementation of campaigns targeting companies and industries whose practices negatively impact animals
  • Maintain a timeline of actions and steps
  • Organise and attend street theatre–style protests across the country
  • Track and analyse the success of demonstrations and media events and strategise accordingly
  • Work with the PETA Foundation’s Production Department to create provocative materials that further animal rights or push companies to change
  • Work with the Communications Department of PETA India to generate media coverage of our efforts through protests, celebrity support, and more
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduate in any discipline
  • Minimum of one year of experience in administration, project coordination, campaign support, event management, or a related field.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Hindi and English (other languages a plus)
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • An excellent communicator who can deal with the public and co-workers as part of a team and independently
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and willingness to learn new software
  • Ability and willingness to travel for demonstrations and other work as required
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to be patient when dealing with activists
  • Ability to organise and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
  • Adherence to a vegan lifestyle
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
  • Support for PETA India’s philosophy and the ability to advocate for the organisation’s positions on issues in a professional manner
