Education Coordinator
Position Objective:
To create and promote PETA India's educational resources
Term of Employment:
Full-time
Reports to:
PETA India Chief Functionary
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Widely distribute PETA India's educational materials for use in schools
- Seek opportunities to promote our educational materials
- Oversee the production of regular newsletters for teachers, students and others
- Create relevant educational materials in consultation with PETA India's Chief Functionary
- Give presentations and operate informational stalls at conferences, educational shows and other events to promote our educational materials
- Meet with government officials to promote our educational materials, as needed
- Visit schools and meet with teachers, principals and other school authorities to promote our educational materials, as needed
- Help ensure useful content on PETA India's website
- Seek opportunities to highlight the link between cruelty to animals and violence towards humans through such means as writing and promoting reports and responding to cases of animal abuse
- Oversee the fulfilment of incoming requests for information from educators and other members of the public
- Perform basic financial and administrative tasks
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Experience in the field of education highly preferred
- Proficiency with word processing, database and e-mail software
- Efficiency, good organisational skills and a high level of motivation
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility with regard to working hours
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
