Education Coordinator

Position Objective:

To create and promote PETA India's educational resources

Term of Employment:

Full-time

Reports to:

PETA India Chief Functionary

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Widely distribute PETA India's educational materials for use in schools
  • Seek opportunities to promote our educational materials
  • Oversee the production of regular newsletters for teachers, students and others
  • Create relevant educational materials in consultation with PETA India's Chief Functionary
  • Give presentations and operate informational stalls at conferences, educational shows and other events to promote our educational materials
  • Meet with government officials to promote our educational materials, as needed
  • Visit schools and meet with teachers, principals and other school authorities to promote our educational materials, as needed
  • Help ensure useful content on PETA India's website
  • Seek opportunities to highlight the link between cruelty to animals and violence towards humans through such means as writing and promoting reports and responding to cases of animal abuse
  • Oversee the fulfilment of incoming requests for information from educators and other members of the public
  • Perform basic financial and administrative tasks
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the field of education highly preferred
  • Proficiency with word processing, database and e-mail software
  • Efficiency, good organisational skills and a high level of motivation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility with regard to working hours
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
