Campaign Coordinator

Position Objective:
To coordinate PETA India's many cutting-edge campaigns and work with activists across the country to bring attention to animal rights issues
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and Develop and manage cutting-edge campaigns against companies and industries that abuse animals
- Work to push the government to adopt meaningful and positive legislation and to make other changes
- Meet with company, industry and government officials to push for improved animal welfare policies
- Maintain a timeline of actions
- Use creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to bring about positive change in the attitudes of members of the public, industry figures and government officials about animal rights
- Organise and attend street-theatre style protests across the country
- Track and analyse the success of demonstrations and media events and strategise accordingly
- Act as a PETA India spokesperson by conducting interviews with local and national television outlets, radio stations, newspapers and magazines
- Work with local activists to help them to plan their own demonstrations and other activities as well as to develop the skills needed to speak out for animals
- Work with the PETA Foundation's Production Department to create provocative materials that further animal rights or push authorities to change
- Work with the media department to generate media coverage of our efforts through protests, celebrity support and more
- Work with PETA India's affiliates abroad to generate international support for animal rights campaigns
- Perform any other duties assigned by the manager
Qualifications:
- Must be at least a graduate in any discipline
- Previous campaign advocacy experience a plus
- Previous public speaking experience required
- Fluency in both spoken and written Hindi and English (other languages a plus)
- Knowledge of Indian animal protection laws
- Proven thorough knowledge of all animal rights issues
- Excellent writing and research skills
- Computer proficiency
- Patience when dealing with activists
- Outgoing and personable manner
- Must be reliable
- Must be an excellent communicator who can deal effectively with the public and co-workers both independently and as a member of a team
- Support for PETA India's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate for PETA India's positions on issues
- Ability and willingness to travel, if necessary
- Adherence to a vegan lifestyle
