Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon found this puppy stranded and afraid on the streets of Bandra, Mumbai. He’d been chased by other dogs and was drenched and shivering in the rain. Because Tandon was unable to locate his mother, she rescued him and took him home with her.
The actor immediately contacted PETA India to provide Teddy with veterinary care and shelter, and the group’s rescue team brought him to a local veterinarian for an initial check-up and medication. Now, he’s healthy and under the care of PETA India’s Mumbai office.

Teddy is a 2.5-month-old Indian-breed puppy. His coat is white with brown spots. He’s very spirited, and he loves playing with cats and eating home-cooked food – his favourite dish is rajma chawal. He’s vaccinated, healthy, and looking for a loving family who can give him all the love and care that he deserves.
If you or someone you know is ready to make a lifelong commitment and welcome a companion dog into the family, Teddy is up for immediate adoption from PETA India’s office in Mumbai.
We will cover the cost of his sterilisation as well as the cost of transportation within Maharashtra or driving distance or a one-day train ride from Mumbai.
If you reside in Maharashtra or a nearby state and have the time, energy, and dedication to take Teddy home with you, you’ll have a pawfect companion.

Adopting community dogs from the streets or shelters saves animals’ lives, but buying companion animals from breeders or pet shops worsens the homeless animal overpopulation crisis. That’s because every time someone buys a dog who was purposely bred, a dog roaming the streets or waiting in a shelter loses his or her chance at finding a happy permanent home. Rescued dogs know how lucky they are to have a home, and they’ll spend their lives repaying their guardians for it.
