Holding a sign that reads KFC tortures chickens and imprisoned in a cage, members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, protested the over-crowded and miserable conditions chickens killed for KFC are forced to endure. The demonstration took place on the 21st of March 2007 in Chennai.This is part of the international campaign against KFC cruel practices. Rashmi Mehra, student at NIFT Delhi has designed an animal friendly couture line.She has used only non-animal fabrics. The clothes will bear the PETA India logo on them and were entered in the Wills Lifestyle Competition. AYAMIK Stores has sponsored the line and have agreed to showcase her designs in stores across the country.
