There is nothing luxurious about the stolen skin of a tortured animal,
so steer clear of cruelty by purchasing cars with only non-leather interiors.
Frightening fact: It can take up to 15 cowhides
to make the interior of just one car. And Bader, a leather company based
in Germany, supplies one car company alone with 800,000 animal skins
per year!
There is no excuse for supporting torture. Many
wonderful synthetic materials are available, and they can look and feel
just like leather or better (they don’t have that dead animal
smell, either!). There are also, of course, many terrific natural fibers
that car companies can—and many do—use.
Please help PETA get leather out of cars by writing
to the following car companies and asking that they replace the leather
in their cars with a stylish and luxurious non-animal alternative. During
the transition, ask the companies to ensure that all models of their
cars (including top-end models) are available with a non-leather option
(at least on special order). Please ask the companies to ensure that
while offering non-leather seats, they also use nonleather materials
for steering wheels, dashboards, and other interior parts.

Take the three humane promises no meat, no milk, no animal products to prevent animal suffering, to safeguard your health, to protect the environment, and to help alleviate world hunger. Encourage others to do so as well by writing a letter to the editor of your local newspapers.
Write to PETA for more ways to get involved.

Lying on the hard steel floors of the freight train, adult cows and buffalo and calves alike are bound to poles with very short ropes. The poles are loudly driven in while the animals are being loaded, further frightening them. |
