Celebrity, Marketing & Media Coordinator
Position Objective:
To recruit celebrity support for PETA India, to generate media coverage for PETA India's campaigns and to coordinate marketing efforts

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and make recommendations for new pitch ideas and ways to increase media coverage for PETA India's campaigns, using independent judgment and discretion
- Pitch PETA India's campaigns and events to the media and make follow-up calls, as needed
- Prepare and manage news releases
- Develop target lists for issue and campaign coverage
- Develop marketing plans to reach specific audiences according to each celebrity campaign
- Stay informed about celebrity and internet celebrity news and gossip
- Write and coordinate web features
- Coordinate print advertisement and video public service announcement concepts for celebrity campaigns
- Approach celebrities and/or their management to garner support for PETA India's campaigns
- Manage celebrity campaign projects, maintaining communication between all relevant departments
- Coordinate celebrity photo shoots and other support efforts
- Coordinate marketing efforts at the launch of each celebrity campaign
- Track and analyse the results of each campaign and adjust efforts accordingly
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Marketing and Public Relations
Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues and campaigns
- Proven interest in celebrity news and gossip
- Demonstrated interest in and excellent working knowledge of the internet
- Sophisticated understanding and appreciation of creative work
- Proven excellent project management, strategic thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivation and the proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
- Ability to make sound, independent judgments without direct supervision
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people in a professional and personable manner
- Proven excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative and follow through
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA India's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA India's positions on issues
- Commitment to the objectives of the organisation
